Herbal Medicine

Herbal Medicine

From pre-historic times herbal medicine was the only medicine available to humans. From the end of the 19th century many pharmaceutical drugs were made and produced from herbs such as Aspirin from Willow Bark, Morphine from Opium Poppy, Tamiflu from Star Anise, and others. These and other herbs are only safe and have no side effects when prescribed under the supervision of a trained and experienced Medical Herbalist.

We hand-make very special herbal medicines each individual to a patient’s needs, based on a unique combination of herbs in different forms and concentrations in one medicine.

Using herbs from all over the world - West European, Chinese, Ayuredic, North American, African and Australian – which have traditional uses, backed up by modern scientific research and clinical trials.

Medicinal herbs naturally produce within their structures different phyto-chemical agents which they use for their own plant needs including protection from invaders (insects, bacteria). Each medicinal herb has a unique set of actions due to composition of a unique twist of phyto-chemical agents. We use those unique actions of medicinal plants as non-invasive therapeutic tools when helping a patient to dealing with an illness or when simply aiming to sustain, prevent and strengthen someone's health.

The range of action is vast: to treat headaches, menstrual cramps, enlarged prostate, depression, back pain, migraine, irritable bowel syndrome, indigestion, infertility and many more.

Herbal medicine is deeply humanistic, the key to a healing herbal prescription is in the holistic diagnosis and the in depth plant knowledge and experience of the herbalist in knowing the efficacy of the herbs both individually and in combination.
